On February 6th and 7th, the Youth Training of the Tools4Inclusion (T4I) project took place in Portugal at Esgueira School Group, Aveiro, bringing together 12 young participants.
This training aimed to equip and empower youth to later implement inclusive sessions with children from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. Additionally, it focused on fostering essential soft skills such as teamwork, cooperation, and conflict management.
The training consisted of a 7-hour in-person component complemented by a 4.5-hour e-learning module available on the T4I platform, allowing participants to deepen their knowledge at their own pace.
Topics Covered in the Training:
- Introduction to Tools4Inclusion (T4I): Understanding the project’s goals and the importance of inclusive education.
- Understanding Children: Exploring children’s needs, behaviours, and perspectives to foster a more inclusive environment.
- Group Management: Developing strategies for facilitating group activities effectively and ensuring active participation.
- Multiculturalism: Learning how to navigate and embrace cultural diversity in educational settings.
- Self-Concept and Self-Esteem: Understanding personal identity and promoting confidence and self-worth among children.
- Communication: Enhancing verbal and non-verbal communication skills to create meaningful interactions and inclusive learning experiences.
This comprehensive training experience provided young people with the tools and knowledge to become active agents of change in their communities. By combining theoretical learning with practical strategies, Tools4Inclusion ensures that youth are prepared to lead impactful and inclusive sessions that benefit children from all backgrounds.
Stay tuned for more updates on the implementation of this initiative and the inspiring work of our young participants!
